The U.S. Public Golf Links Championship for men & woman is being played at Bandon Dunes this week on the Bandon Trails & Old MacDonald Golf Courses. The event will also be shown on The Golf Channel June 30th, July 1st & July 2nd. This is the largest amateur tournament held in the U.S. so all of us Bandon folks are proud to host it and welcome the players and spectators to our beautiful area! There were only 2 closed sales averaging a price of $187,500 in the Residential Category. The Commercial & Vacant Land sectors have been remaining rather quiet but there are some great opportunities out there. There are currently 15 Pending Sales in all sectors, mostly all in the Residential sector. There appears to be some uptick for the month of June, which always expected for the summer months. Most of the action is taking place is still in the $250K & under range for home sales, if this is your price range for buying, don’t take your time, if the property is priced to sell…it will! School is out and the streets are filling up so there’s to be an expected increase in overall real estate activity. Overall April was very similar to March with 7 overall closed sales, 5 being in the Residential category and 2 in the Vacant Land category. All sales Residential sales combined had an average sales price of $180,500. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage, a popular choice among buyers, sank even lower this week, matching its yearly low of 4.71 percent from January, reports Freddie Mac in its weekly mortgage market survey. Last year at this time, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5 percent. Meanwhile, the 15-year fixed-rate hit a new yearly low of 3.89 percent this week. Last week, the 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.97 percent. The 15-year rate averaged 4.36 percent last year at this time. It reached its lowest level on record in November when it averaged 3.57 percent. The one-year adjustable-rate mortgage averaged 3.14 percent, down from last week’s 3.15 percent. Last year at this time, it averaged 4.07 percent. “Weaker economic data reports reduced Treasury bond yields and allowed mortgage rates to drift lower for the third consecutive week,” says Frank Nothaft, Freddie Mac’s chief economist.
